Patch notes

What has changed in Always Sunday, newest first. Much of it comes from what players tell us: the Feedback button is on every page.

Latest

A simpler start

A home page that shows what is yours first, and a few pointers for your first league.

  • New
A colour and crest for your team
In League settings, pick a colour and one of eight crests for your team. It shows wherever your team does.
  • New
    A trophy case
Under your name in the menu: your championships, career record, playoff appearances, biggest week, and everything you have done in Trials.
  • New
    Sound, if you want it
Off unless you turn it on (the menu, under Sound and theme): a whistle at kickoff, a crowd for a win or a touchdown in the replay, a chime for your draft pick.
  • Improved
    A Trial lineup starts filled
In a Trial your lineup now starts each season as the best one by projection. From there it is yours: it carries from week to week, and you change it when someone is hurt or on a bye.
  • Improved
    The More page
The league you are in is at the top as a scoreboard: swipe it, or use its arrows, to move between your leagues. Under Your leagues each one shows its year, where it stands and your record, and lights up when something there is waiting for you. The headings are bigger, and Chat, Matchup, My Team and Players are gone from it on a phone: they have tabs of their own.
  • Fixed
    Looking at a finished draft
Opening Draft after the draft was over sent you back to the league page after a second. It stays put now, so you can look the board over.
  • New
    Draft picks land
In the draft room each pick drops onto the board, and your own puts the player's name across the screen for a moment.
  • New
    Moments worth a cheer
Winning the title, submitting a Trial, beating your best Trial Rating, and starting an Inspired player who goes off each get a few seconds of gold. Tap to send it away.
  • Improved
A team page that shows what matters now
An empty taxi squad that can no longer be added to is not shown. Your draft picks fold into one line you can open. Scouting points appear when you have some, or when it is the time to spend them.
  • New
    A win gets its moment
On a Trial's week screen the two scores count up, and a win gets a burst of gold.
  • New
    The week plays out
When you play a week, the screen shows the games kicking off, then every score counting up, then your own matchup and whether you won. Tap Skip to go straight to the result.
  • Improved
    Fewer words on the page
Longer explanations on the draft setup, free agents, trades and league settings are shorter, or folded under a line you can open.
  • Improved
    The home page
Your leagues are at the top, each with one button to carry on. This week's Trial has its own line: start it, continue it, or submit it. Starting something new is two buttons under that, and How to play, Patch notes and Sign-up codes are links at the foot.
  • New
    A welcome for new players
If you have no league yet, the home page is one welcome with one suggestion: start with a Trial.
  • New
    Pointers on your first visit
The first time you open the draft room, your team, and a few other pages, a short note says what to do there. Press Got it and it never comes back.

Report and block

Two ways to deal with someone who is spoiling the game for you.

  • New
    Report a player
Report is on every private message thread and on each Lobby listing. Say what happened; what that person last wrote to you goes with it. They are not told who reported them.
  • New
    Block a player
Blocking ends private messages between you both ways, hides their lines in a league's chat from you, and keeps you out of each other's leagues in the Lobby. They are not told. Undo it any time under Your account.
  • New
A Trial week on one screen
After a week of a Trial is played you land on one page: the score, your best and quietest starters, anything that needs you before the next week (an empty spot, a trade offer, a healthy player on injured reserve), who is Inspired, your bids, and one button to play the next week.
  • Improved
    The other teams play smarter
Bot teams save their charisma: nothing in week 1, the head start only in toss-ups, must-win games and the playoffs, and their one full heal only late in the season when the game matters. They boost a player who is Inspired while it lasts. They bid much more for free agents they want, most of all for one who is Inspired, so a small bid no longer wins everyone.
  • Improved
Trade offers from bots wait two weeks
A bot's offer now stays open for two weeks before it is taken back, there are slightly fewer of them, and a bot will not send you a second one while its first is waiting.
  • Improved
A week plays in about half the time
Playing a week is much quicker than it was.
  • New
    18 and older
New accounts confirm they are 18 or older and agree to the Terms and Privacy pages, which you can read from the front page.

Trials and the Lobby

Three seasons on your own, ranked against everyone else's run. And a Lobby, so people can find each other.

  • New
    The Lobby
Public multi-player leagues are listed in the Lobby with their settings, how many people are in, and how many teams are run by bots. Tap a league to see who is in it, write privately to its commissioner, or join.
  • New
    Public or private
When you create a multi-player league you choose: private (invite only) or public (listed in the Lobby). A commissioner can list a league or take the listing down at any time.
  • Improved
    Multi-player leagues and Lobby
The home page card now opens a small card: Create a league, Invitations, Lobby, and the leagues you are in. Invitations lights up when you have one, and shows who it is from and the settings.
  • Improved
Join a league that has already started
An invitation no longer closes when the draft starts. If the league is under way you take over one of the bots' teams as it stands, and you choose which.
  • Improved
When someone leaves a multi-player league
A bot takes the team at once and is as hard to trade with as bots get. The commissioner can invite a replacement, and can have the schedule pause when it happens. A commissioner can leave too: another manager becomes commissioner.
  • New
    A month away
If you do not open a multi-player league for 30 days, a bot takes your team. When no person is left in a multi-player league it is deleted, records and all.
  • New
    Trials
A Trial is a solo league with the same settings for everyone: 12 teams, 15-man rosters, swag points and charisma. You draft, play three seasons, and put the run on that week's leaderboards. Find it on the home page and in the menu.
  • New
    One submission a week
Run as many Trials as you like in a week and submit one. Once you submit you are locked until the next week opens on Tuesday. Every leaderboard shows how many runs each person started.
  • New
    Seven leaderboards
Trial Rating, Titles and record, Total points, Lineup accuracy, Draft value, Dynasty value and Biggest week. Every run has a different set of players, so points, draft and roster are measured against the other teams in your own league.
  • New
Charisma carries over in a Trial
Inside a Trial, charisma you do not spend stays with you from one season to the next.
  • New
A Trial league is not saved
It is deleted when you submit it, when you start another, or when its week closes. Only your leaderboard entry is kept. The start screen says so before anything is made.

The head start, and a round of small comforts

A new way to spend charisma, a tidier draft room and Players tab, and a handful of things that make the game quicker to use.

  • Improved
    The draft room, rearranged
The board of picks is now a small strip across the top that you scroll both ways, with the players to draft under it. The Compact board button is gone.
  • Improved
    The Players tab
One row now holds a search by name and four views: Trending (players teams are going after, and whoever just had a game well over what was expected), Free agents, Leaders (the season's top scorers) and Rookies.
  • Improved
The taxi squad is set before the season
Nobody can be added to a taxi squad once week 1 has been played, until the season is over. Promoting a player from it is always open.
  • New
    Quick swap
On your team page, tap a slot label (QB, RB, BN and so on), then the label of the player to trade places with. The Swap out player card is still there.
  • New
    Dots on the menu
A gold dot on Team means something there needs you: an empty starting spot, a healthy player on injured reserve, or a roster over the limit. A dot on Chat means messages you have not read, and one on Patch notes means there is something new.
  • New
    The score stays in view
On the matchup, the two totals stay at the top of the screen while you scroll through the players.
  • New
    Find a player when trading
The trade builder has a search box and position buttons over both lists.
  • New
    Swipe a card away
Any card that opens over the page (Charisma, Swap out player, a list of choices and the rest) can be swiped off to either side, or downwards, as well as closed with its X.
  • Improved
    Injured reserve under the bench
On your team page injured reserve now sits directly below the bench. Activate and the taxi squad's Promote each open a card: with a full roster, the card is where you choose who to release.
  • Improved
    A shorter team page
The two blocks of directions under the bench are gone (How it works still has them). Unused injured reserve spots show as thin empty rows. Your place in the waiver order is now in the box at the top, and the claims box only appears while you have a claim in or a result to see.
  • Improved
The replay, full screen and sideways
Full screen on a game's replay now takes over the whole phone, turned on its side. The score is at the top middle and the result of the last play at the bottom middle. Swipe to leave. The replay's choices open as cards, and the win chart and key plays list have been taken off the page.
  • New
    Pull down to refresh
In the installed app, pull the page down from the top to reload it.
  • New
    Head start
For 1 charisma, one of your players begins the week with 5 fantasy points on the board, as long as he is in your starting lineup when the games are played. One player a week. It adds to a boost and to being Inspired. It shows on his card and on the matchup, so your opponent knows where the points came from. The other teams use theirs in games that are close on paper, must-win games and the playoffs.
  • Fixed
    Pages stay where you were
Swapping a player, buying a boost or making any other change no longer sends the page back to the top: it comes back where you were.

Commissioner's tools, a better draft room, and position tabs

More control for commissioners, fixes in the draft room, and a quicker way to look over your team.

  • New
    Tools for the commissioner
In a multi-player league the commissioner can now ask to approve every trade between two managers before it goes through, and can move a player to a team or to free agency from his card, to put a roster right. It is all written to the league's feed. Find it under League settings.
  • New
    Position tabs on your team
Above your starters: Full team, QB, RB, WR, TE (and K where kickers are on). Pick one to see everyone you have at that position, each marked Starting or Bench.
  • Fixed
    Draft room buttons
The plus on a player now adds him to your draft board on the spot and says so. A new My draft board button opens your board over the list. Compact board now really shrinks the board.
  • Improved
    Projected totals on the matchup
Under each team's final score is what its lineup was projected for before the games, from this week on.
  • Improved
    Creating a league
Every choice on the create-a-league form opens as a card, like the rest of the game.

A new set of pro teams

New leagues are played by 32 new pro teams, and the other fantasy teams are named for their managers.

  • New
    32 new pro teams
Leagues created from now on have a new pro league: the Buffalo Blizzards, Jacksonville Lizards, Kansas City Grill Masters, Green Bay Lumbermen, Seattle Emeralds and 27 more, in two conferences of four divisions. Leagues that already exist keep the teams their history was written with.
  • Improved
Fantasy teams named for their managers
In a new league the other teams start out as Team Quinn, Team Harper and so on, so a fantasy team is never mistaken for a pro team. You can still rename your own team whenever you like.

Seasons by year, and one button for free agents

Name your league's seasons by year, and add a free agent with a single button.

  • New
    Seasons named by year
When you create a league you can give its first season a year: 2026, or 1920 for the first NFL season, or any year you like. Each season then moves on a year, and draft picks are named with it, such as a 2027 1st-round pick. A commissioner can also set or change it in League settings. Leave it empty and seasons are counted as before.
  • Improved
One button for a free agent
On the Players tab and on a free agent's own card there is now one button: Bid, Claim or Sign. If he can simply be added, pressing it adds him. If there is something to choose, it opens a card: your bid at the top in a league with swag points, your players to pick who to release if your roster is full, and the taxi squad if he can go there.

The game is now Always Sunday

A new name, a new icon, the game replay back and sharper, and a rule for injured reserve.

  • New
    Always Sunday
The game has a new name and a new icon: black, with the name in white and gold. Opening the app shows the name on the field for a moment, in dark or light as you last had it. To get the new icon on your home screen, remove the old one and add the game again.
  • Fixed
    The game replay is back
The replay of every pro game had stopped drawing after the redesign. It is back, with sharper players, and a Full screen button: swipe sideways to leave it.
  • New
Healthy players come off injured reserve
Injured reserve is for the injured. When a player on it is cleared to play, your team page tells you to activate him. If he is still there when the week is played, he is brought back to your bench for you, and if your roster is full your lowest-rated player is released to make room.
  • Improved
    A tighter matchup
The matchup is back to a row for each slot, with the position between your player and theirs. Each player is a small card with his points beside the slot.
  • Improved
    The bracket, in order
A team with a first-round bye now sits beside the game whose winner it is most likely to meet, so every game in the bracket lines up with the two that feed it.
  • Improved
    Light on the cards
The gold fade from the home page's first card is now on every card of the home page and your team page, and behind the More menu.
  • Improved
    No defensive ratings
Pass Rush, Tackling and Coverage are gone from player cards: nobody in this game plays defense for you.

Matchup cards, a playoff bracket, and a tidier league page

The matchup is laid out as a card for every player, the playoffs are a real bracket, and the league page's buttons are in one row.

  • Improved
    The matchup, player by player
Each player on both sides now has his own card: his points in the top corner with what he was projected for under them, his bye week, and his line for that game along the bottom. The two roster tables at the bottom of the page are gone. The projection beside a score is kept from this week on.
  • New
    A playoff bracket
The Playoffs page is now a bracket. Once week 10 has been played, the teams in the top spots are written into it as a projection of where things stand. Every team in the league is listed below it, with a line showing who is in and who is out.
  • Improved
    Playoffs, Midweek, Sim
The buttons at the top of the league page are in one row. Sim opens a card with the ways to play the week, each explained. Midweek is its own button, with a light running round its edge until you press it.
  • Improved
    Watch games
The league page's links to the news and the pro scores are now Watch games buttons. Both open the week's games, and that page lets you step back through every week played.
  • Improved
Other teams, and who to trade with
On the team page, Other teams is a button beside Free agents and Trade offers. It and the Trade with button on the trade screen now open a card listing the teams.
  • Improved
    Lineup slots stand apart
Every starting and bench slot on your team page is its own card, with space around it.
  • Improved
How to play, brought up to date
The How to play page now covers everything in the game: swag points, trades between managers, draft picks, playing with friends, the midweek, Inspired, the full heal and the bracket.
  • New
    A little sparkle
The Inspired tag catches the light now and then, and the player named at the start of each weekly highlight is lit up.

A new look: the field under lights

The whole game has been redrawn: new colours, new type, new icons, and a football field behind every page.

  • New
    The field behind the game
Every page now sits on a football field, with its yard lines, hash marks, numbers and end zones. It is faint enough to read over, and it drifts slowly as you scroll.
  • Improved
    New colours
Dark mode is a very dark green with chalk-white text and gold for the things you tap. Light mode is chalk paper with the field drawn in green. The orange frame round the edge is gone.
  • Improved
    Colours that mean one thing
Gold is the game's own colour: main buttons, your current tab, projections. Teal now means charisma and nothing else. Green is healthy, amber is questionable or healing, red is out. Blue is a rating. Position colours are quieter.
  • Improved
    New lettering and icons
Headings and numbers use a bold scoreboard face, and one set of line icons replaces the old symbols in the menus, tabs and buttons.
  • Improved
    A little movement
Pop-up cards slide up, buttons give when you press them, and in a week played in real time the scores count up as they change, with a bar under them showing who is ahead.

A new frame, and a Rookies filter

The game has a two-colour edge, and the Players tab can show just the rookies.

  • New
    Rookies on the Players tab
A Rookies button on the Players tab shows only this year's rookies. It works together with the position buttons, the search and the free agent list.
  • Improved
    A frame round the game
The game now has a slim two-colour edge: bright orange outside with a thin white line inside it in dark mode, and a thin dark line inside it in light mode.

Charisma and swaps open as cards

Tap Charisma or Swap out player and a small card opens with every choice explained.

  • Improved
    The Charisma card
The Charisma button now opens a small card for that player. Each option shows its price and says what it does: the three boosts, the heals, and the safety net. The safety net is only here now; once you have bought it, the card shows it as on for the week.
  • Improved
    Swap out player
The swap button is now an orange Swap out player button. It opens a card listing everyone on your bench who can play that spot, with his game this week, his projected points and whether he is hurt.
  • Improved
    Overall player rating
On your team page the rating bar on each player now reads Overall player rating and is light blue, so it is not mistaken for his health.

The Charisma button on the player card, clearer rating bars

The Charisma button is on the player card too, and a player's potential is easier to see.

  • Improved
    Charisma on the player card
A player's card now has the same Charisma button as your team page, in place of the boost menu and the heal buttons: boosts, heals and the safety net in one place. The safety net is only in this menu now, on any of your starters.
  • Improved
    Potential in yellow
On a player's card the yellow part of a rating bar is his potential. His ratings are teal, and the ratings his position leans on less are dark blue.
  • Improved
    Wider arrows
The arrows on a player's card during a draft are wider and easier to hit.

One Charisma button, and arrows through the draft list

Charisma is easier to find, drafting is quicker to browse, and a few things on the player card are tidier.

  • Improved
    The Charisma button
On your team page, everything charisma buys for a player is now under one wide Charisma button on his listing: boosts, heals, and the safety net, which has moved there from the top of the page.
  • New
Arrows on the card while you draft
Open a player's card during a draft and there is a flashing arrow on each side. The right arrow goes to the next player down the list, the left arrow to the one before. If you were looking at one position or a search, the arrows stay inside it. Swiping the card away still takes you back to the list.
  • Improved
    Inspired free agents come first
Any Inspired free agent is now at the top of the free agent list, whatever you are filtering by.
  • Improved
    Health is a bar
On player thumbnails a hurt player's health is shown as a bar again, not a number beside his name.
  • Improved
    Injuries this season
A player's card lists the injuries he has had this season, in the order they happened.
  • Improved
Young players settle down year by year
A young player can still turn out better or worse than he looked. That is now most likely for a rookie, less likely in his second year, and less again in his third.

Swag points, and leagues that run from season to season

A new way to win free agents, an offseason that moves along by itself, and the numbers you look for most made easier to see.

  • New
    Swag points
A new option when you create a league. Every team gets 200 or 250 swag points each season and bids them for free agents. Bids are blind: nobody sees yours. The highest bid gets the player and can start him that week; a bid that loses costs nothing. If your roster is full you choose who to release when you bid, and he only goes if you win. You are told when a bid wins or loses, and once the bids are settled everyone can see them. Leagues without swag points keep the waiver order, exactly as before.
  • New
    Player history
Every player's card now has a History: where he was drafted, each winning bid or waiver claim for him with what was paid and what the other teams bid, and every trade he was part of.
  • New
    Trade your swag points
In a league with other managers, swag points can be part of a trade. Bots bid for free agents with their own points, but never trade them.
  • New
    Inspired free agents
A free agent can now be Inspired after a big game, the same way a bench player can. The tag shows on the free agent list straight away, and whoever signs him gets his Inspired week.
  • Improved
The season follows the rookie draft
When the last pick of the rookie draft is in, the next season starts at once. If the rookies put you over the roster limit, you still have until week 1 is played to get down to size.
  • Improved
A league on a schedule keeps going
A league that plays on a schedule now carries on through the offseason: the season ends at the next scheduled time, the rookie draft opens at the one after, and the new season follows the draft. The commissioner can pause the schedule at any point.
  • New
    Delete a solo league
At the very bottom of the League tab in a solo league. You type the league's name to confirm.
  • Improved
    Projections that stand out
On your team page every player's projected points for the coming week now stand out on his listing.
  • Improved
    A clearer player card
A player's rank at his position in the league, his total points and his points a game are now the biggest numbers on his card.

Reset your own password, and a fairer cut-down

A way back in if you forget your password, more time to get your roster down to size, and a tidier league chat.

  • Improved
    Bigger, cheaper boosts
Boosts now cost 1, 2 and 3 charisma (they were 1, 3 and 5), so there is room to use them all season. The middle boost is +30% (it was +25%). The top boost is +45% (it was +40%), and the week after it costs the player 10% instead of 25%.
  • New
    The injury shield
A shielded player can't be injured in that week's game. The +45% boost comes with one, an Inspired player has one for his Inspired week, and so does a player brought back with the new full heal. A shielded player shows a shield beside his name.
  • New
    Full heal
For 5 charisma an injured player is back to 100% health at once, and can't be injured that week. Your team has one full heal a season, so choose the moment. The +20 health heal for 3 is still there as often as you can pay for it; a player gets one heal a week.
  • Improved
    A cheaper safety net
The safety net now costs 3 charisma (it was 5).
  • Improved
    Inspired is rarer
A bench player is now Inspired when he was projected for 5 points or more and scores two and a half times that. It happens much less often, and only to players worth starting: bring him in, boost him, and enjoy a week he can't be hurt in.
  • Improved
    Smarter opponents
The other teams now use everything you can: the big boosts, with their shields, on their best players in the games that decide their season; the full heal to get a hurt star back; and the safety net when a game matters most.
  • Improved
    Running backs, rebalanced
The very best running backs were scoring a little more than they should. Workhorse backs now share a few more carries with their backups, which brings the top of the position back in line.
  • Fixed
A player missing from the team page
When a starting spot had nobody able to play in it, one player on the roster could drop off the team page. Everyone is listed now.
  • New
    Leagues that play themselves
A commissioner can put the league on a schedule in League settings: any days of the week (every day, weekdays, weekends, Monday Wednesday Friday, or your own pick), at any time, with each week played all at once or in real time. It runs until the commissioner changes it. They can pause it, and can still play a week by hand. The league page shows when the next week plays, and anyone with open lineup spots gets a reminder an hour before.
  • New
    Recovery code
Make a recovery code on Your account and keep it somewhere safe. If you ever forget your password, Forgot your password? on the sign-in page lets you set a new one with it. Each code works once.
  • Improved
The roster cut-down waits for week 1
After the rookie draft you are no longer made to cut players before the season can start. Your team page warns you while you are over the limit, and you have until week 1 is played to choose who goes. If you are still over then, the least valuable players are released for you.
  • New
Commissioners can remove a chat message
In a multi-player league the commissioner can remove a message from the league chat. The chat shows that a message was removed.

Notifications on your phone

The game can now tell you what is happening in your leagues, even when it is closed.

  • New
    Turn on notifications
Open Your account and press Allow notifications on this device. Do it on each phone or computer you want to hear on. On an iPhone, add the game to your Home Screen first and open it from there.
  • New
    The draft
You are told when a draft starts, when you go on the clock, and if your clock runs out and a pick is made for you.
  • New
    Game day
In a week played in real time you hear when your players score, and your opponent's if you want that too. You also hear the final score, when one of your starters is hurt, and when your lineup has open spots at the midweek.
  • New
    Trades and waivers
A trade offer for you, the answer to one of yours, and whether a waiver claim was won or lost.
  • New
    Messages and news
A private message, your name in the league chat (write @ and a manager's username, or @everyone), a league invitation, and new patch notes.
  • New
    You choose what you hear
The four groups above can each be switched off in Your account. Live scoring also follows each league's own score alerts: all scoring, only your players, or off.

Multi-player leagues: create one and invite your friends

The first part of multi-player is here: several people in one league.

  • New
    Multi-player leagues
The home page now offers a solo league or a multi-player league. Create a multi-player league with any of the league options and you are its commissioner. Seats nobody takes are run by bots.
  • New
    Invite to league
Once your league is created, use Invite to league on its page and type the other person's exact username. People can join until the draft starts.
  • New
    Your invitations
An invitation waits on your Multi-player page, and the home page tells you when one is there. Join and one of the bots' teams becomes yours; or decline it.
  • New
    Drafting and playing together
In the draft each person picks on their own turn, for their own team. In the season each person runs their own lineup, free agents and boosts; the commissioner plays the weeks.

    The pick clock
A multi-player draft has a pick clock: 3 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hour or 12 hours, chosen when the league is created. The commissioner can change it at any time, even mid-draft. The countdown shows to everyone in the draft room, and your home page tells you when you are on the clock.
  • New
    The clocks sleep at night
Pick clocks stop at 10pm and start again at 10am in the league's time zone, so nobody loses a pick while they sleep. With the 12-hour clock that still means at least one pick a day.
  • New
    When your clock runs out
The pick is made for you: the top player still available on your draft board, or the best player available if you haven't set one up. You keep all your later picks. Solo leagues have no clock.
  • New
Nobody scores a zero for being away
In a multi-player league, if a starting spot is empty, or its player is hurt or on a bye, when the commissioner plays the week, the best player on that manager's bench who can play there steps in for the week. Your lineup itself stays as you set it.
  • New
    Who is ready
The league page shows each manager and whether their lineup is set, so the commissioner knows when to play the week.
  • Improved
    Trade offers for everyone
The bots' teams now send their trade offers to every manager in a multi-player league.
  • New
    Leaving a league
You can leave a multi-player league from League settings, and the commissioner can remove a manager. Either way a bot takes the team over as it stands.
  • New
    Trade with the other managers
In a multi-player league you can send a trade offer to another manager. Their Trade offers button lights up; they accept, deny or counter. A trade goes through the moment it is accepted. You can take an offer back while it is waiting.
  • New
    Private messages
Message another manager in your league from the Messages button on your team page. Only the two of you can read it. The league chat is still there for everyone.
  • New
    Hand the league on
A commissioner can make another manager the commissioner, in League settings.

A new team page, and the midweek

The team page has been rebuilt around one card per player, and there is a new optional stop between the weeks.

  • New
    Trade offers button
A Trade offers button sits at the top of your team page. It lights up when another team has sent you an offer and stays lit until you open the trade screen.
  • Improved
Trade offers you can read at a glance
Each offer is now its own card: the players and picks you would get on one side, what you would give on the other, each shown as a full listing. Answer with Accept, Deny or Counter. Counter opens the offer builder with their offer already filled in for you to change.
  • Improved
    The team page, rebuilt
Shorter and cleaner. Your charisma, scouting points and lineup accuracy are in the box with your team name. Every starter and bench player is his own card, with his overall rating and health as labelled bars. Injured reserve and the taxi squad use the same cards. The separate roster list is gone.
  • New
    Progress to midweek
Before you play a week you can progress to its midweek. Waivers run and the other teams make their moves, so the matchup page shows the lineups and projections you will really face. It also shows who is Inspired and what the other teams boosted. It is optional: skip it and playing the week does the same things first.
  • Improved
Free agents and the safety net, up top
One Free agents button and the Buy safety net button now sit at the top of the team page, above your starters.
  • Improved
Boosts are bought on your starters
The Buy boost menu is on each starter's card. Bench players can't be boosted; a hurt player can still be healed.
  • Improved
    Releasing a player
The release button has moved to the bottom of the player's own card, so it can't be pressed by accident in a list.
  • Improved
    Numbers read on one line
A number now sits beside its label (Charisma 2, Proj 17.2) instead of above or below it.

Two ways to start, and the week ahead

A new choice when you create a league, a matchup page that looks forward as well as back, and a player card that swipes away cleanly.

  • New
Choose how the first rookie class is drafted
When you create a league you now pick one of two starts: rookies mixed into the first draft, or a first draft of veterans followed by a rookie draft of its own before season 1. The rookie draft runs in the reverse of the first draft's order.
  • New
    Your matchup before the games
The Matchup tab now opens on the week about to be played: your lineup beside your opponent's, with every player's projected points for that week and a projected score.
  • New
    Look ahead through the season
Swipe left and right on the matchup page (or use the week buttons) to see who you play in the weeks to come, with projections for each of those weeks.
  • New
    Inspired players
A player who sits on a bench and has a big game he doesn't usually have is Inspired the week after: his main ratings are up 5% for that week, and his listing says so. It doesn't happen after a game that was his first back from a bye. Inspired is part of charisma: a league created with charisma off has neither.
  • New
Injury tags on the matchup page
Players carry their injury tag on the matchup page. In a week played in real time the tag appears when the injury happens.
  • Improved
Rating and health on the team page
Every player listed on your team page now shows his overall rating and his health as bars.
  • Improved
    Names stay on one line
A player's first and last name are no longer stacked on top of each other anywhere. On a phone the team page and the Players list give the name the full width and put the buttons underneath.
  • Fixed
    Player cards fit the screen
On the card of one of your own players a line ran off the edge of a phone screen, which made the card hard to swipe away. It fits now.

Your team, at a glance

A round of changes from the first play-throughs: a clearer team page, bye weeks on every player card, and one projection that reads the same wherever you see it.

  • Improved
Team page: starters and bench are clearly apart
Your starting lineup and your bench now sit under their own headings, starters are marked down the side, and the roster list says who is starting. Injured reserve and the taxi squad each have their own box.
  • New
Bye week on every player card
Each player's card now shows the week his team has off.
  • Improved
    Swapping a starter
The swap menu no longer lists players who are already in your starting lineup, and it tells you when a player is questionable or playing hurt.
  • New
Lineup accuracy on the matchup page
Once a week is final, each side of the matchup shows how many of its starters belonged in the best lineup it could have set.
  • Fixed
    Projected points now match everywhere
The player card, the Players list, your roster and the matchup page showed two different projections. They all show the same one now: the current projection, which moves with how the player has actually played.
  • New
A warning before you play a week short-handed
If a starting spot is empty, or a starter is out or on a bye, the game asks before it plays the week.
  • Improved
    Charisma on the team page
Your charisma, scouting points and lineup accuracy are shown as large numbers at the top of your team page.
  • New
    Patch notes
    This page.

Faces, draft picks and the draft room

Every player has a face, draft picks can be traded, and the draft room tells you where a player is expected to go.

  • New
    Player portraits
Every player now has his own cartoon portrait: his face in lists, the draft room and matchups, and the whole player on his card.
  • New
    Trade draft picks
Every team holds its picks in the next two rookie drafts, and they can be traded alongside players. The other teams make offers with picks too: a team chasing the playoffs may pay for help now, a team building for later may sell a veteran.
  • Improved
Expected pick in the draft room
The list of available players shows the round each one is expected to go in, in place of projected points.
  • New
    Swipe a player card away
On a phone, swipe a player's card left or right to go back to where you were.
  • Fixed
    Short-handed teams
A team that lost players over the offseason now signs enough of them to field a full lineup.
